Working Land refers to two facets of rural landscape: the idea of working the land as a vocation and as a description of productive ground. My family tree includes immigrant ancestors who made a living from working the soil and some of their descendants who carry on this work to the present day. That personal connection to working land inspired the project.

Rocky's Bait, June 4, 2015: When in use, these traps lie flat-side down on the bottom of a pond. Minnows funnel through the three vertical slots to the inside, and there they stay. This storage yard at Rocky’s has for me the feel of a sculpture garden with its visual fascinations, but being a practical person, I also appreciate the functional aspects of the objects.
