Working Land refers to two facets of rural landscape: the idea of working the land as a vocation and as a description of productive ground. My family tree includes immigrant ancestors who made a living from working the soil and some of their descendants who carry on this work to the present day. That personal connection to working land inspired the project.
edward and keith at home
Anderson farm, October 10, 2015: At the center of the house stands the original 1905 homestead of Edward Anderson, Edward III and Keith’s grandfather. Edward III returned from Wisconsin to his home farm for a weekend of apple harvesting, with neighbors and friends coming by to visit, help pick apples and take some home. I could sense the strong love and admiration these brothers have for each other.
